Black History Month 2008
“When The Music Changes, So Does The Dance”:
An Exploration of Black Music
This African proverb describes our exploration of the music and music-making of black people in the United States. Three special programs explore the themes of retention, relevance and righteousness of this cultural expression, both within and across genres.
Other programs are offered this month as part of a cultural celebration of African Heritage.
