Interfaith March for Peace
The march along National Road continues the tradition of marching for justice. It is followed by a brief MLK memorial service in Wheeling Jesuit University?s Chapel of Mary and Joseph, with music and an address. Marchers meet at one of two points, either the Temple Shalom, located along Bethany Pike or Wheeling Park, near the White Palace at 1 p.m. Lunch is available after the church service and includes a special menu of soul food, served in the Benedum Room and prepared by Parkhurst Food Services, which is donating part of the cost of the meal. Cost is $3.00.

Showcases young people, singing and dancing. Performers include ?We Are The Future? and ?Generation of Steppaz.? Winners of the Martin Luther King essay contest, under the coordination of the YWCA and with generous support from Dinsmore and Shohl law firm, read their winning compositions and are honored in a program that includes comments by YWCA Executive Director Wendy Barbeau and Racial Justice Director Diana Bell. New this year is the announcement of the YWCA Wheeling Advisory Council Community Builder Awards.
